Perry, Purchasing Supervisor <br /> SUBJECT:Resolution Accepting the Bid of Sloan Implement Company, Assumption, IL. for the Purchase of One (1) 201 <br /> John Deere 4WD Utility Tractor, Alamo Boom Flail Mower and Rear Mower. <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding a contract in theamount of$159,400.00 to Sloan <br /> Implement Company, Assumption, IL., to furnish one (1) 2015 John Deere 6105M mo ing tractor, Alamo Maverick 30' <br /> boom flail mower attachment, and Alamo SHD (Super Heavy Duty) 96 rear flail mower. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Lake Management is replacing one (1) 1997 John Deere 6300 tractor with articulate boom mower and rear flail <br /> mower. The mower currently has 3,566 hours. It was scheduled to be replaced by FY 2012-13 and has been held over. <br /> The current boom mower has a reach of 15' which limits the amount of brush it can reach. The new boom mower has a <br /> reach of 30'. Lake Management will utilize the new boom mower for landscape mainten nce of the shoreline to reduce the <br /> need for contractors to perform this type of work. <br /> BIDDING: <br /> Six(6) bid proposals were sent out with three (3) bids returned. <br /> Arends Hogan Walker(AHW) LLC of Dwight, bid $163,767.00 and Rahn Equipment C . of Danville, bid $165,299.00. <br /> Purchasing the Tractor side mount boom mower and rear flail mower from Sloan Implement of Assumption at a cost of <br /> $159,400.00 is the low bid and considered to be in the best interest of the City as a whol , and is recommended. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known objections to this request <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: <br /> Lake Management requested the Tractor side mount boom mower and rear flail mower. Fleet Maintenance wrote the bid <br /> specifications based on Lake Management requirements. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> Funding for the expenditure is available in the FY2015 Water Management Fund. <br />
