Marley, P.E., Public Works Director <br /> SUBJECT: Ordinance Removing No Parking Restriction on the South Side of the 500 <br /> block of West Marietta Street <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends the approval of the attached Ordinance authorizing on-s re parking on the <br /> south side of the 500 block of West Marietta Street as recommended by the Traffic and Parking <br /> Commission. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> On March 27, 2014, the Traffic and Parking Commission voted to recommen allowing on-street <br /> parking on the south side of the 500 block of West Marietta Street, which was requested by Ms. <br /> Lori Conner and residents of the currently occupied homes in the 500 block c f West Marietta. <br /> The residents are concerned that parking their cars away from their homes leaves them <br /> vulnerable to break-ins. Parking is currently allowed on the north side of the street. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION; No objections anticipated. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Traffic and Parking Commissio <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marley, Public Works Director, at 424- <br /> 2747 1 <br /> Matt Newell, City Engineer, at 424-2747 <br /> Richard Marley, Public Works Director, will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to <br /> answer any questions of the Council on this item. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> Approximately 1 hour of staff time will be used to remove the current No Paiking signs. <br /> Attachments: 2 <br /> Cc: Traffic and Parking Commission <br /> Lori Conner <br />
