Mr. <br /> Hopp stated that the general area is being developed commercial with the w County Market, <br /> auto parts store and pharmacy located near. Mr. Hopp stated that he agrees that the best use of <br /> the property would be for a stand alone restaurant. Mr. Hopp stated the Krekels is successful, <br /> has a good name and the name is associated with Decatur. <br /> Mr. Myatt questioned the sign on the west side of Ellen that was placed betty en two houses. <br /> Ms. Stickle responded that yes that area is part of the rezoning. <br /> Mr. Hopp stated that the area in question is all part of the property that his clients would like to <br /> rezone in which part of it is residential housing but they have no plans on changing that. Mr. <br /> Hopp stated that his clients would like to acquire the vacant spots. <br /> Mr. Frantz asked if Ellen Street at West Cushing would be closed. <br /> Mr. Hopp responded no and that he is dealing with IDOT to get permission o do a curb cut for <br /> an ingress/egress on Oakland. Mr. Hopp stated that if they cannot do that, they would probably <br /> put a driveway in on one of the side streets but they would prefer not to do that. <br /> Mr.Newton asked who the current owners of the properties are. <br /> Mr. Hopp stated that the property is in a trust and that Charles Daniels P operties, Inc is the <br /> owner and that the president lives in Chesterfield, Missouri. <br /> Mr.Newton asked if the owners are on board with the zoning change. <br /> Mr. Hopp stated yes and that the owners are the ones who have signed the entative contract to <br /> sell the property and the sale is contingent upon the rezoning. <br /> It was moved and seconded (Harris/Peck) to forward Cal. No. 14-06 to the City Council with <br /> recommendation for approval as presented by staff. Motion carried unanimously. <br />
