COUNCIL MEMORANDUM <br /> #2013-17 <br /> DATE: November 25, 2013 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Michael T. McElroy and City Council <br /> FROM: Ryan P. McCrady, City Manager <br /> Gerard J. Bauer, Assistant City Manager <br /> SUBJECT: City Code Chapter 7 Change <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that City Council approve the attached <br /> ordinance regarding a change to the section of City Code Chapter 7 that es ablishes the City <br /> Manager's authority to appoint and remove individuals from certain positions. <br /> BACKGROUND: Specifically, this change establishes the City Manager's autt ority to appoint a <br /> Police Records Supervisor, a position that will be needed in preparation for thE upcoming move <br /> of the Police Department, when the Records function will be assumed by the Department and <br /> located at the new facility. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known objectors to this change. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Questions regarding the ordinance should be directe to me, at 424- <br /> 2801 or rmccrady cDdecaturil.gov. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: The budgetary impact for this change is co templated in the <br /> City Manager's proposed 2014 budget, and is targeted for implementation b the start of the <br /> new fiscal year. <br /> attachments <br /> 73 <br />
