LEGAL DEPARTMENT MEMORANDUM <br /> NO. 2013-05 <br /> November 13, 2013 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor McElroy and City Council <br /> FROM: Ryan McCrady, City Manager <br /> Wendy Morthland, Corporation Counsel <br /> Amy Waks, Assistant Corporation Counsel <br /> SUBJECT: Amendments to Chapter 52 —Alcoholic Liquor <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff requests that Council pass the <br /> proposed ordinance amendment regarding Chapter 52, Sections 4 7, 10 and <br /> 17 allowing for an additional liquor license classification for en ertainment <br /> events. The Events License would allow for a licensee to sell alcohol for <br /> consumption only on premises during an event fifteen times a year. <br /> BACKGROUND: Staff received requests for allowance of a icense for <br /> entertainment events which do not qualify for temporary permit cue to their <br /> non-association with a non-profit organization. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the suggested ame dments to <br /> Chapter 52, Sections 4, 7, 10 and 17. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known or expected objE ctions. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: <br /> Amy Waks, Assistant Corporation Counsel, at 424-2807. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: None <br />
