Marley, P.E., Public Works Director <br /> SUBJECT: Ordinance Establishing Parking Restrictions 500 Block Wet Green Street <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends the approval of the attached Ordinance authorizing the inst Nation of on-street <br /> parking on both sides of street in the 500 block of West Green Street between College Street and <br /> the dead end with parking prohibited between 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on the s uth side of the <br /> street with signs to be installed on the south side as recommended by the Trafl ic and Parking <br /> Commission. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Traffic and Parking Commission on September 26, 2013, voted to reco end the <br /> installation of on-street parking in the 500 block of West Green Street between College Street <br /> and the dead end on the north side of the street and on the south side of the street with parking <br /> prohibited between 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 am. The on-street parking was request by the <br /> granddaughter of the only resident on this block, Ora Bates,of 524 W. Green. Parking was <br /> removed several years ago from the 500 block of West Green Street on behalf of a community <br /> policing effort. <br /> BUDGET AND STAFFING IMPLICATIONS: <br /> Budgetary impacts are approximately$500 for the installation of the requested signs and <br /> approximately 2 hours of staff time to make and install the new signs and remove the existing <br /> sign. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: No objections anticipated. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Traffic and Parking Commission <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marley, Public Works Director, at 424- <br /> 2747 <br /> Matt Newell, City Engineer, at 4 4-2747 <br /> Richard Marley, Public Works Director, will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to <br /> answer any questions of the Council on this item. <br /> This memorandum was prepared by Griffin Enyart, Civil Engineer. <br /> Page ( 1 <br />
