Marley, P.E., Public Works Director SUBJECT: Ordinance Establishing Parking Restrictions 500 Block Wet Green Street SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the approval of the attached Ordinance authorizing the inst Nation of on-street parking on both sides of street in the 500 block of West Green Street between College Street and the dead end with parking prohibited between 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on the s uth side of the street with signs to be installed on the south side as recommended by the Trafl ic and Parking Commission. BACKGROUND: The Traffic and Parking Commission on September 26, 2013, voted to reco end the installation of on-street parking in the 500 block of West Green Street between College Street and the dead end on the north side of the street and on the south side of the street with parking prohibited between 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 am. The on-street parking was request by the granddaughter of the only resident on this block, Ora Bates,of 524 W. Green. Parking was removed several years ago from the 500 block of West Green Street on behalf of a community policing effort. BUDGET AND STAFFING IMPLICATIONS: Budgetary impacts are approximately$500 for the installation of the requested signs and approximately 2 hours of staff time to make and install the new signs and remove the existing sign. POTENTIAL OBJECTION: No objections anticipated.
