ORDINANCE NO. 2013-55 <br /> ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE <br /> - CHAPTER 29— ADMINISTRATIVE ADJUDICATION OF OFFE114SES - <br /> BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, <br /> ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That Section 5 A. of Chapter 29 of the City Code of the City of Decatur, <br /> Illinois, be, and the same is hereby, modified and amended so that said Soection 5 A. of <br /> Chapter 29 as so modified and amended shall provide as follows: <br /> 5. SERVICE. <br /> A. The City shall serve respondents with a Violation Notice and Complaint in a <br /> manner reasonably calculated to give the respondent actual notice of the complaint, <br /> including, as appropriate: <br /> (1) Personal service of process upon a party or its employees or gents; <br /> (2) Service by mail at a party's address; <br /> (3) Notice posted upon the property where a violation is found when the <br /> person is the owner, occupant or manager of the property; <br /> (4) Affixing the original or a facsimile of the notice to an unlawfully <br /> standing or parked vehicle, unstickered vehicle or vehicle violating any <br /> compliance regulation and mailing such notice to the registered owner of <br /> the vehicle by first-class mail; <br /> (5) Such other method as is reasonably calculated to pr vide the <br /> respondent with actual notice of the administrative hearing proceedings. <br /> Section 2. That the City Clerk be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to cause <br /> the provisions hereof to be appropriately set out in the City Code and to cause the same to <br /> be published in pamphlet form according to law. <br />
