ORDINANCE NO. 2013-55 ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE - CHAPTER 29— ADMINISTRATIVE ADJUDICATION OF OFFE114SES - BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That Section 5 A. of Chapter 29 of the City Code of the City of Decatur, Illinois, be, and the same is hereby, modified and amended so that said Soection 5 A. of Chapter 29 as so modified and amended shall provide as follows: 5. SERVICE. A. The City shall serve respondents with a Violation Notice and Complaint in a manner reasonably calculated to give the respondent actual notice of the complaint, including, as appropriate: (1) Personal service of process upon a party or its employees or gents; (2) Service by mail at a party's address; (3) Notice posted upon the property where a violation is found when the person is the owner, occupant or manager of the property; (4) Affixing the original or a facsimile of the notice to an unlawfully standing or parked vehicle, unstickered vehicle or vehicle violating any compliance regulation and mailing such notice to the registered owner of the vehicle by first-class mail; (5) Such other method as is reasonably calculated to pr vide the respondent with actual notice of the administrative hearing proceedings. Section 2. That the City Clerk be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to cause the provisions hereof to be appropriately set out in the City Code and to cause the same to be published in pamphlet form according to law.
