Marley, P.E., Public Works Director <br /> SUBJECT: Ordinance Authorizing the Installation of Stop Signs at th�Intersection of <br /> Witt Street and East Main Street facing Witt Street <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends the approval of the attached Ordinance authorizing the installation of stop <br /> signs at the intersection of Witt Street and East Main Street facing Witt Street. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> On March 28, 2013, the Traffic&Parking Commission approved a request from City staff <br /> recommending that stop signs be installed at the intersection of Witt Street and East Main Street <br /> facing Witt Street. <br /> Staff recommends that stop signs be installed as a result of a traffic study performed by the <br /> Public Works Department. <br /> The Traffic and Parking Commission's recommendation is attached with the ordinance for <br /> Council's review. <br /> SCHEDULE: Installation is normally completed within 10 days of Council authorization. <br /> BUDGET AND STAFFING IMPLICATIONS: Budgetary impacts are approximately$250 <br /> for the installation of the requested signs and pavement markings and approximately 2 hours of <br /> staff time to make and install the signs. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: No objections anticipated. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Traffic and Parking Commission <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marley, Public Works Director, at 424- <br /> 2747 <br /> Matt Newell, City Engineer, at 424-2747 <br /> _ I <br /> Page 1 <br />
