Perry, Purchasing Supervisor <br /> SUBJECT: Bids for water inventory materials <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding a contract to HD Supply <br /> Waterworks to supply the various water inventory materials listed on Exhibit A for the period of <br /> December 3, 2013 —December 31, 2015. <br /> BACKGROUND: The following is a list of water inventory materials and how they are used <br /> by Water Services. <br /> Fire Hydrants—replacement for obsolete and damaged hydrants. <br /> Hydrant repair kits—for leaking, damaged, and malfunctioning hydrants. <br /> Curb stops and curb boxes—water service repairs. <br /> Service fittings—water service repairs. <br /> Repair clamps—water main leaks and failures. <br /> The low bidder is providing material that meets the requirements of the American Water Works <br /> Association (AWWA) standards. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Water Services requested the materials)and wrote the bid <br /> specifications. They recommend approval of the bid. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Keith Alexander, Director of Water Management, 424-2863. Randy <br /> Miller, Water Services Manager, 875-5705. Keith will be at the council meeting to answer <br /> questions the council may have about this purchase. <br /> BUDGET: Water Fund. <br />
