October 17,
2011 appointing them to act as our agent with Local Exchange Carriers,Long Distance Carriers,
Equipment Vendors, Consultants, and Local Loop Service Providers. This recommendation is
the result of the expired Centrex agreement with Call One Inc. The City's Centrex, central
exchange, agreement has been in force since May 2010 and expired in May of 2013. Centrex is
a central office network-based telecommunications service for voice and data. It offers
traditional telephone system features and functions found in premises-based systems such
as PBX, Private Branch Exchange. This new proposal will decrease our
current Centrex cost by$32.93 per month for a total savings of$1,185.48 for the life of the
agreement.
Staff recommends accepting the Call One Inc.proposal and executing the agreement for 36
months.
POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None anticipated.
INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None.
STAFF REFERENCE: Randy G.Aldrich,MIS Manager, 450-2239.
BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Expected agreement savings of $1,185.48 prorated by
departments affected.
Attachments (2)
1
