Illinois Department of Transportation
Division of Public and Intermodal Transportation
100 West Randolph Street/Suite 6-600/Chicago, Illinois/60601
May 3, 2013
RE: FY 2013 Illinois Jobs Now (IJN)/Downstate Transit Improvement Fund (DTIF)
Capital Program Awards
Dear Grantee:
Per Governor Quinn's transportation capital funding announcement, please find
attached the Public Transportation Program Award Table for each grantee's approved
scope and budget. The requested small capital items are included in the ITS and
Equipment columns.
The next step in this process is for each grantee to submit a formal application to
DPIT (attached) for a Capital Assistance Grant for the awarded projects and funds.
Please complete all parts including both the Opinion of Counsel (Appendix C) and
Board Resolution (Appendix D) and return to our office for review and approval. Once
your application has been approved and the funds released, you will be sent a grant
contract for execution.
All rolling stock, with the exception of Heavy-Duty buses, will be procured through the
Consolidated Vehicle Procurement Program. Large capital ITS projects will be part of
a joint procurement contract to be led by West Central Mass Transit District.
No third party awards or expenses can be incurred for this project until the grant
contract is fully executed. In addition, all projects to be funded must be in the Capital
Needs Assessment (CNA) and for urbanized areas identified in their Transportation
Improvement Plan (TIP) before contract execution.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact Carlos
Campos at(312) 793-2328, carlos.campos@illinois.gov or the Project Manager
identified on the Awards Table.
David Sp dek
Deputy Director of Transit
Illinois Department of Transportation
Division of Public and Intermodal Transportation
Bureau of Capital Transit
