Exhibit A <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> LAKE SHORE DRIVE SEWER REHABILITATION L17-4873 <br /> CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING SERVICES <br /> The project is known as LAKE SHORE DRIVE SEWER REHABILITATION. The PROJECT <br /> shall consist of the rehabilitation improvements to the City owned Lake Shore Drive (Southeast <br /> Interceptor) including the Lake Shore Drive— East Trunk, Lake Shore Drive —West Trunk, Lake <br /> Shore Drive— 16th Street Branch and Lake Shore Drive — MLK Branch sewers as detailed in the <br /> construction plans and specifications entitled "Lake Shore Drive Sewer Rehabilitation L17-4873" <br /> February 2013 by Bainbridge, Gee, Milanski & Associates. This project will be funded with an <br /> Illinois EPA SRF loan. <br /> THEREFORE, In Consideration of these premises and the mutual covenants of the above <br /> described PROJECT: <br /> THE ENGINEER AGREES, <br /> 1. Construction Enaineerina - Furnish services during the construction period generally <br /> comprised of the following: <br /> A. Print plans and specifications for the PROJECT required for bidding and <br /> construction purposes. <br /> B. Answer design related questions during the bidding and construction period, and <br /> provide assistance to the OWNER in receiving construction bids, analyze bids <br /> received and make recommendations of contract award. <br /> C. Consult with the OWNER and with the Contractor on interpretation of plans and <br /> specifications regarding any changes under consideration as construction <br /> proceeds. <br /> D. Provide periodical job-site observation by the Project Engineer, or his <br /> representatives, during the construction period. <br /> E. Prepare and submit all payment estimates, change orders, records and reports <br /> required by the OWNER. <br /> F. Attempt to safeguard the OWNER against defects and deficiencies on the part of <br /> the contractor, but the ENGINEER does not guarantee the performance of the <br /> contract by the contractor. <br /> G. Conduct final review of construction and prepare final papers and reports. <br /> H. Revise contract drawings to show location and nature of improvement as <br /> constructed and supply "record drawings" consisting of an electronic file set and <br /> one set of paper prints to the OWNER. <br /> I.
