INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR THE SHARING OF CERTAIN COSTS <br /> RELATED TO IMPROVEMENT OF PORTIONS OF VARIOUS PUBLIC HIGHWAYS <br /> IN MACON COUNTY, ILLINOIS, BETWEEN THE CITY OF DECATUR, HICKORY <br /> POINT TOWNSHIP,LONG CREEK TOWNSHIP,MOUNT ZION TOWNSHIP AND <br /> THE COUNTY OF MACON, ILLINOIS <br /> RESOLUTION NO. H-1836-2-13 <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Decatur, Illinois intends to implement highway improvement projects <br /> involving the use of micro-surfacing on various City Streets; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hickory Point Township, Long Creek Township, Mount Zion Township and the <br /> County of Macon, Illinois are desirous of implementing micro-surfacing improvements to <br /> various streets and roads under their jurisdiction; and <br /> WHEREAS, intergovernmental cooperation between the City of Decatur, Illinois, Hickory Point <br /> Township, Long Creek Township, Mount Zion Township and the County of Macon, Illinois is <br /> financially beneficial to all agencies by jointly purchasing micro-surfacing services and products; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, Hickory Point Township is a body politic and corporate in the State of Illinois; and <br /> WHEREAS, Long Creek Township is a body politic and corporate in the State of Illinois; and <br /> WHEREAS, Mount Zion Township is a body politic and corporate in the State of Illinois; and <br /> WHEREAS,the County of Macon is a body politic and corporate in the State of Illinois; and <br /> WHEREAS, the 1970 Illinois Constitution, Art. VII, Section 10 and 5 Illinois Compiled Statutes <br /> 220/3 provide authority for intergovernmental co-operation; <br /> WHEREAS, the Road Commissioners of Hickory Point Township,Long Creek Township, <br /> Mount Zion Township; and the Macon County Board believe the improvement to various City <br /> Streets and other public roadways in Macon County, Illinois by the City of Decatur will be of <br /> benefit to the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Macon County; Illinois, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Chairman and Macon County Board believe the improvements to various City <br /> Streets and other public roadways in Macon County, Illinois by the City of Decatur, will benefit <br /> the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Macon County, Illinois. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual agreement contained in this agreement, the <br /> City of Decatur, Hickory Point Township, Long Creek Township, Mount Zion Township and the <br /> County of Macon, Illinois agree as follows, subject to actual construction costs: <br /> FILED I. The City of Decatur agrees to act as the Lead Agency for the micro-surfacing <br /> projects unless or until the City of Decatur provides the other participating <br /> agencies thirty (30) days written notice of its intention to no longer act as Lead <br /> FEB 15 201^ Agency in which instance the County of Macon would act as Lead Agency. <br /> 6tephen M.
