Perry, Purchasing Supervisor <br /> SUBJECT: Resolution Accepting the Bid of Jackson Ford, Inc., for the Purchase of One <br /> (1) 2013 Ford E-450 Cutaway Service Truck <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding a contract to Jackson Ford, <br /> Inc. Decatur, IL., to furnish one (1) 2013 Ford E-450 Cutaway Service Truck for a total cost of <br /> $33,988.00 with trade in. <br /> BACKGROUND: This unit of equipment will be used by the Water Services Division and is <br /> scheduled for replacement this year. It will replace a 2001 Ford E-350 truck currently in service <br /> with 4,304 hours. The current unit will be traded in when the new unit is put into service. <br /> The truck is used by Water Services personnel when they respond to emergencies that affect the <br /> City's water customers during normal hours as well as after hour emergencies. The truck carries <br /> the tools and service parts necessary for responding to water main breaks, valve and hydrant <br /> replacements, and water service care. <br /> OTHER BIDDERS: Jackson Ford was the only bid received of ten that were sent out. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None <br /> DISPOSAL OF REPLACED UNIT: The old unit will be traded in to Jackson Ford Inc. <br /> Decatur, IL. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known objections to this request. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Water Services requested the replacement of this vehicle. <br /> Fleet Maintenance wrote the bid specifications which were reviewed and approved by the Water <br /> Services Division prior to bid. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Richard G. Marley, Public Works Director, Rennie A. Young, Fleet <br /> Supervisor, and Randy L. Miller, Water Services Manager. Richard G. Marley will be in <br /> attendance at the City Council meeting to answer any questions of the Council on this item. <br /> This memorandum was prepared by Rennie A.
