RESOLUTION NO. R2012- 157 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SPENDING <br /> AUTHORITY OF CITY MANAGER FOR CONTRACTS WITH GREAT LAKES DREDGE <br /> & DOCK COMPANY TO SECURE SUPPLEMENTAL WATER SUPPLY <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Decatur continues to experience extreme drought <br /> conditions and the Lake Decatur lake level continues to decline; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the water demand is greater than the Lake and all supplemental <br /> water supplies currently available; and, <br /> WHEREAS, additional water supplies should be secured for the citizens and <br /> industries of Decatur to avoid a negative economic impact throughout the City, <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to negotiate <br /> and enter into contracts with Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company, and its <br /> subsidiaries, in an amount not to exceed One Million, Four Hundred Thousand Dollars <br /> ($1,400,000.00) for the purpose of purchasing, installing, operating, and maintaining a <br /> temporary pipeline to access supplemental water resources for the City of Decatur. <br /> Section 2. That this Resolution shall become null and void on December 31, <br /> 2012. <br /> PRESENTED AND ADOPTED this 20th day jAust, 2,dl <br /> Michael T.
