Project Description
This year's Street Restoration Project is focused on restoring the pavement on major streets in
the City and reconstructing some streets that can no longer be maintained through mill and
overlay work. It is proposed that portions of Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive and Jasper Street
receive a mill and overlay treatment which involves milling off portion of the surface and
overlaying the milled surface with new asphalt. Portions of Kenwood Avenue and Tanager
Drive are scheduled to be fully reconstructed, which removes all the pavement, the road bed is
stabilized by mixing in cement and then the roads are overlaid with asphalt. This year's program
will work on approximately 1.5 centerline miles of streets in the City.
