DEVELOPMENT SERVICES MEMORANDUM <br /> No. 12-31 <br /> June 14, 2012 <br /> TO: Mayor Michael T. McElroy and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Ryan P. McCrady, City Manager <br /> Billy Tyus, Assistant City Manager <br /> Richelle D. Irons, Director of Neighborhood Services <br /> SUBJECT: Adoption of FY12-13 Annual Action Plan for CDBG and HOME Funds <br /> RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends adoption of the FY12-13 Annual Action <br /> Plan for CDBG and HOME funds. The U. S. Department of Housing and Urban <br /> Development reviewed and approved the City's Annual Action Plan for FY 12-13. This <br /> year's allocation includes $1,238,838 in Community Development Block Grant funds and <br /> $349,266 in HOME Investment Partnership funds. <br /> BACKGROUND: In accordance with the guidelines set forth by the U. S. Department <br /> of Housing and Urban Development(HUD), the Neighborhood Outreach Division <br /> develops an Annual Action Plan. The Annual Action Plan describes funding allocations <br /> for Fiscal Year 2012-13 along with strategic implementation of the priorities identified in <br /> the City's Five Year Consolidated Plan, FY 2010-2014. The City Council reviewed and <br /> approved the CDBG and HOME funds during the adoption of the City's budget. <br /> The FY 12-13 Annual Action Plan is available for public review in three locations: <br /> Decatur Public Library, Decatur Housing Authority Administrative Office, and the <br /> Development Services Office. The plan was also available for review on the City's web <br /> site during the review and comment period. The final approved plan will be available to <br /> the public on the City's web site. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: Staff is not aware of objections. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Comments and information were secured through <br /> public meetings and input from a variety of community organizations. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Should the City Council have any questions, they may contact <br /> Richelle D.
