PURCHASE OF 25 FAREBOXES AND 50 VAULTS/CASHBOXES, <br /> WITH THE OPTION TO PURCHASE AN ADDITIONAL 10 FAREBOXES <br /> AND 20 VAULTS/CASHBOXES WITHIN 2 YEARS. <br /> FAREBOX SPECIFICATIONS The farebox shall be a high security, low maintenance unit, <br /> housed in a rugged, steel case, with the following features: <br /> • Non-registering bus farebox <br /> • Constructed of heavy duty stainless steel with tamper-proof screws <br /> • Maximum size: 10"x 10"x 36" Tall, excluding floor stand or base plate, if any <br /> • Farebox shall accept both coins/tokens and bills through a fare slot on top of the farebox <br /> • The fare slot opening must be wide enough to insert an unfolded dollar bill, lengthwise <br /> • Inspection plate to be large enough to allow bills to lie flat on the plate <br /> • Transparent panel(s) on the driver side of the unit so that the driver can view the fares <br /> received <br /> • Inspection plate to be illuminated with a 12 volt D.C. lamp <br /> • Driver may dump coins/tokens and bills by pressing a lever or button <br /> • Base of farebox to have a heavy duty lock to secure a removable vault/cashbox <br /> • Vault/cashbox cannot be accessed without the appropriate keys <br /> • Vault/cash box lid locks automatically when withdrawn from the farebox <br /> Vault/cashbox able to be opened by key(after removal from the farebox) <br /> Vault/cashbox minimum capacity: $300 in mixed coins and 300 bills <br /> • All vaults/cashboxes are to be identical and interchangeable <br /> PRICE SHALL INCLUDE <br /> r Freight to Decatur, IL <br /> + One year parts and labor warranty <br /> + All hardware and any special tools required for installation and maintenance <br /> • 25 floor stands or 25 base plates to mount the fareboxes in the buses <br /> + One operating manual and one maintenance manual <br /> • One year of technical support <br /> Price shall not include installation or tax <br /> FEDERAL REGULATIONS This purchase will use federal grant funds, and therefore the <br /> attached FEDERAL REGULATIONS shall apply to this contract. <br /> Decatur Public Transit System Farebox Specifications 04/30/2012 <br />
