McCrady, City Manager <br /> Billy Tyus, Assistant City Manager <br /> Richelle Irons, Director of Neighborhood Inspections <br /> Dave Griffiths, Neighborhood Inspections Administrator <br /> SUBJECT: Unsafe Structures <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION:An item on the agenda for the meeting of March 19, 2012, is a <br /> resolution authorizing action regarding unsafe structures. This is the second step, after the posting of a <br /> structure as unfit, which initiates the demolition process. City staff recommends approval. <br /> BACKGROUND:This is the beginning of the process seeking the court-ordered demolition of unsafe and <br /> abandoned structures throughout the community. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None anticipated. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Legal department staff. <br /> STAFF REFERENCES:Any questions may be forwarded to Dave Griffiths at 424-2794, or by email at <br /> dagriffiths@decaturil.gov. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Combination of CDBG spot demolition and general fund, usually <br /> accomplished within six months from the beginning, unless contested through the courts. <br />
