Marley, Public Works Director. <br /> SUBJECT: Ordinance Amending City Code- Chapter 34 -Traffic and Parking <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff requests that Council pass the proposed ordinance <br /> amendment regarding Chapter 34, Section 37 subsections L. and S., Section 53, Section 55, <br /> Section 57, Section 66 B and E, and Section 74 <br /> BACKGROUND: Chapter 34, Section 37, subsections L. and S. list violations of Illinois <br /> state law for which a vehicle may be impounded. Since this Ordinance was passed, some of the <br /> state violations have been repealed or amended. This amendment to Chapter 34 reflects those <br /> changes in the State law. <br /> Sections 53, 55, 57, 66 B and E, and 74 identifies the parking lot located on the west half of the <br /> block bounded by North Main, North Street, Water Street and William Street as Parking Lot G, <br /> provides that employee parking permits may be issued for spaces in that lot, and sets the parking <br /> permit charge at $25.00 per month. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the suggested language amendment to Chapter 34, <br /> Section 37, subsections L. and S., Section 53, Section 55, Section 57, Section 66 B and E, and <br /> Section 74 <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known or expected objections. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Amy Waks, Assistant Corporation Counsel, at 424-2807.
