ti
Excerpts from the
Traffic & Parking Commission Meeting
September 27, 2012
Item#1 Request for stop signs at the intersection of North Woodford Frontage Road
at Woodford Street.
Griffin Enyart said that City Staff had been contacted by an area business manager requesting
stop signs be put up at the intersection of Woodford Frontage Road and Woodford Street. Traffic
counts were obtained manually because it was too difficult to use automated counters with
vehicles coming from multiple angles at this intersection. There were no accident reports
obtained. However, the business manager informed City staff about an accident that occurred a
few months ago, there was no accident report found. From observation, the traffic coming from
Woodford Street rarely yields to oncoming traffic. The traffic on Woodford Frontage Road
would rarely yields either. It is a free for all at that intersection.
Staff recommends that stop signs be installed facing Woodford Frontage Road.
Wick Anderson motioned to approve the recommendation; seconded by Nikki Garry, and on call
of the roll, Commission Member Anderson, Winter, Meador, Garry, Harris, Marley, Stewart,
Newell, Nihiser, Enyart voted aye. The Acting Chairman declared the motion carried.
