ORDINANCE NO. 2012- 74 <br /> ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING CONSUMPTION OF <br /> ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR FOR COMMUNITY EVENT <br /> WHEREAS, as written in City Code Chapter 52, Section 8, Temporary Permit, it is the <br /> intention of the Oakwood Business Association, a not-for-profit agency to sponsor "Come <br /> Together Let's Walk" Street Festival and to offer alcoholic liquor for sale to patrons for <br /> consumption at said event; and, <br /> WHEREAS, such consumption of alcoholic liquor on public right-of-way requires the <br /> express approval of the City Council; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Council finds that it would be in the best interest of the local not-for- <br /> profit agency and of the City of Decatur that such consumption of alcoholic liquor as described <br /> be permitted for said limited time period. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That on the day listed herein, and only on such day, between the hours listed <br /> opposite each, only those alcoholic beverages listed below may be consumed in the 100 block of <br /> South Oakland Avenue that will be closed, said day and hours being particularly described as <br /> follows: <br /> Saturday, October 20, 5:00 p.m. — 12:00 a.m. Beer <br /> Section 2. That no alcoholic beverage may be consumed as provided herein unless such <br /> alcoholic beverage is in a plastic or paper cup. <br /> Section 3.
