ADDITIONS AND DELETIONS <br /> - ZONING ORDINANCE — <br /> SECTION XXIV.D.7.c <br /> Off-Street Parking and Loading Requirements-Design of Parking Spaces <br /> and Lots-Surface <br /> c. Paving for Intense Commercial/Light Industrial and Heavy Industrial Districts. <br /> All parking areas, driveways and aisleways used for traffic circulation in the M-1 and <br /> M-2 districts shall be paved with a minimum of two (2) inches of Class I asphalt over <br /> a six (6) inch aggregate base, or an equivalent surface approved by the Public Works <br /> Department. All storage yards and storage areas shall be paved with a minimum of <br /> two (2) sixes inches of all-weather surface, or an equivalent surface approved by the <br /> Public Works Department. Driveways and aisleways used for traffic circulation <br /> within storage yards and storage areas shall be paved with a minimum of two (2) <br /> inches of Class I asphalt over a six (6) inch aggregate base, or an equivalent surface <br /> improved by the Public Works Department. <br /> A request for an all-weather alternative surface for traffic circulation in storage yards <br /> and areas maybe approved by the Public Works Department if the storage yard or <br /> area is located on property the nearest point of which is 300 feet from the nearest <br /> point of any property zoned R-1, R-2, R-3, R-5, R-6, PMR-1, O-1, B-1, B-2, B-3, and <br /> PD or any other non-industrial use within the corporate limits of the City of Decatur <br /> or neighboring jurisdiction. The request shall be submitted in a form approved by the <br /> City of Decatur and shall be supported by data describing the anticipated traffic <br /> volume, the size and weight of vehicles (loaded and empty) anticipated to use the <br /> storage yard or area, and the soil and topographic conditions of the site of the <br /> proposed storage yard or area. The City of Decatur's Public Works Department shall <br /> grant or deny requests for an alternative all-weather surface based on the following <br /> criteria: whether the proposed alternative all-weather surface and soil conditions are <br /> reasonably sufficient for the volume and load of the anticipated use. Under no <br /> circumstances will an alternative all-weather surface be constructed of less than six <br /> (6) inches of aggregate. Requests for an alternative all-weather surface shall include <br /> an engineered cross section. Continued use of an approved alternative surface shall <br /> only be allowed as per the terms defined in the approved site plan. <br />
