1
Excerpts from the
Traffic & Parking Commission Meeting
June 12, 2012
Item#1 Request for stop signs at the intersection of Decatur Street and 22nd Place
facing 22nd Place.
Griffin Enyart did the review of that intersection. The speeds are pretty much well within what
someone would expect in a neighborhood. It is a low volume intersection. There have been two
accidents within the last three years, which is a very high accident rate, which isn't expected at a
low volume intersection like that. Sight distance is a bit cluttered through there and staff feels it
would be best to have stop sign control.
Ed Harris motioned to approve the recommendation for stop signs; seconded by Nikki Garry,
and on call of the roll, Commission Member Winter, Garry, Harris, Luther, Marley, Meador,
Stewart, Newell, Nihiser voted aye. The Secretary declared the motion carried.
