Chapter 73 <br /> 8. DISCHARGE OF FIREARMS. It shall be unlawful to fire or discharge a gun, <br /> pistol, cannon or other firearm, unless in or on a premise or facility properly licensed or <br /> authorized as elsewhere provided by law or ordinance, or unless fired or discharged for <br /> ceremonial purposes with a weapon that may cause a report but does not deliver a projectile <br /> capable of causing serious injury and with the approval of the Chief of Police, provided that the <br /> discharge of firearms by any duly appointed law enforcement officer in the performance of his <br /> duties shall not be in violation hereof. (Amended, Ordinance No. 96-39, June 17, 1996). <br /> 9. BREACH OF PEACE. It shall be unlawful for any person to do any act in such <br /> unreasonable manner as to alarm or disturb another and to provoke a breach of the peace, or to <br /> cause or permit in any manner loud and raucous sounds to be audible as such to any other <br /> premises or residence. <br /> 10. NOISE ON PUBLIC STREET. <br /> A. No driver of any motor vehicle within the City of Decatur shall operate or permit <br /> operation of any sound amplification system which can be heard outside the vehicle from <br /> seventy five (75) or more feet when the vehicle is being operated upon a street, highway or <br /> roadway unless such system is being operated to request assistance or warn of a hazardous <br /> situation. This section does not apply to authorized emergency vehicles. <br /> (Amended, Ordinance No. 2003-56, September 15, 2003) <br /> B. Any person convicted of violating the provisions of this Section shall be fined Two <br /> Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00). (Amended, Ordinance No. 2003-56, September 15, 2003) <br /> 11.
