f <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2011-64 <br /> ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE <br /> - CHAPTER 29 - <br /> - ADMINISTRATIVE ADJUDICATION OF OFFENSES - <br /> Whereas authority is given, pursuant to the Illinois Municipal Code, 65 ILCS 5/1-2.1 et. seq. <br /> to municipalities to implement a system of administrative adjudication for code violations , and; <br /> Whereas, authority is given, pursuant to the Illinois Vehicle Code, 625 ILCS 5/11-208.3 et. <br /> seq. to municipalities to provide a system of administrative adjudication for vehicular standing, <br /> parking and compliance violations, and; <br /> Whereas, the City of Decatur, is a home rule unit of government and as such has certain <br /> powers granted to it under Article 7 of the Constitution of the State of Illinois and; <br /> Whereas, the City of Decatur desires to establish an Administrative Code Enforcement System <br /> for the efficient enforcement of the City Code of the City of Decatur and; <br /> Whereas, the City of Decatur desires to provide for the fair and efficient enforcement of City <br /> ordinances as may be allowed by law and directed by ordinance, through an administrative <br /> adjudication of violations of such City ordinances and establishing a system of fines and penalties. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That the City Code of the City of Decatur, Illinois, be, and the same is hereby, <br /> modified and amended, by adding a new Chapter 29 thereto, titled Administrative Adjudication of <br /> Offenses. Said new Chapter 29 shall provide as set out on Exhibit A attached hereto and hereby <br /> made a part hereof. <br />
