Marley, P.E., Public Works Director <br /> SUBJECT: Ordinances Authorizing the Installation of a Stop Sign at the Intersection of <br /> North Neeley Avenue and East Underwood Court <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends the approval of the attached Ordinance authorizing the installation of a stop <br /> sign at the intersection of North Neeley Avenue and East Underwood Court. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> On September 13, 2011, the Traffic & Parking Commission approved a request from City staff <br /> recommending that a stop sign be installed at the intersection of North Neeley Avenue and East <br /> Underwood Court with the stop sign facing Underwood Court. <br /> Staff recommends that a stop sign be installed as a result of a traffic study performed by the <br /> Public Works Department showing restricted sight distance on the southeast corner. <br /> The Traffic and Parking Commission's recommendation is attached with the ordinance for <br /> Council's review. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION; No objections anticipated. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Traffic and Parking Commission <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marley, Public Works Director, at 424- <br /> 2747 <br /> Matt Newell, City Engineer, at 424-2747 <br /> Richard Marley, Public Works Director, will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to <br /> answer any questions of the Council on this item. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> Budgetary impacts are approximately $250 for the installation of the requested sign and <br /> pavement markings.
