ORDINANCE NO. 2011-41 <br /> ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC <br /> LIQUOR ON PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY AND IN CENTRAL PARK <br /> -DECATUR CELEBRATION - <br /> WHEREAS, the Decatur Celebration, a community summer festival of games, shows and <br /> food, will be held on the public streets and in Central Park in downtown Decatur beginning <br /> Friday, August 5, 2011, and continuing through Sunday, August 7, 2011; and, <br /> WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Decatur Celebration to offer the following alcoholic <br /> beverages: Budweiser, Bud Light, Bacardi Silver, Sutter Home wine (various flavors), Illinois <br /> wines and wine coolers, for sale to its patrons for consumption at the Celebration; and, <br /> WHEREAS, such consumption of alcoholic liquor on public rights-of-way and in Central <br /> Park requires the express approval of the City Council; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Council finds that it would be in the best interest of the Decatur <br /> Celebration and of the City of Decatur that such consumption of alcoholic liquor as described be <br /> permitted for said limited time period. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That on the days listed herein, and only on such days, between the hours listed <br /> opposite each, the above named alcoholic beverages only may be consumed at, in or on those <br /> portions of public rights-of-way described in Section 2 hereof, and in Central Park located in <br /> downtown Decatur, said days and hours being particularly described as follows: <br /> Friday, August 5, 2011 5:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. <br /> Saturday, August 6, 2011 12:00 Noon - 11:00 p.m. <br /> Sunday, August 7, 2011, 12:00 Noon - 9:30 p.m. <br /> Section 2. That those portions of public rights-of-way at, in, or on which the above <br /> named alcoholic liquor may be consumed, on the days and during the hours listed in Section I <br /> hereof, are described as follows: <br /> Central Park; <br /> North Merchant Street between East Main Street and East Prairie Street; <br />
