Smith, Senior Planner SUBJECT: Annexation of the premises commonly known as 3540 East Fitzgerald Road. SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the attached annexation petition be approved. Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce a logical extension of the corporate limits. BACKGROUND: A valid petition seeking voluntary annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the City Clerk's Office. Containing approximately 0.6 acres. The property is improved with a single family residence. The property immediately east is zoned R-1, Single Family Residence District. Properties south across Fitzgerald Road are zoned R-3, Single Family Residence District. Property to the west and north is County. When annexed, the area will come into the city as R-1, Single Family Residence District. The following information is relevant to the area in question: 1. The parcel is improved with a single family residence. 2. City water is available along North Lake Shore Drive. 3. Sanitary sewer is available. 4. The average Decatur Fire Department response time is six(6) minutes. 5. East Fitzgerald Road is constructed of asphalt and maintained by the City of Decatur. POTENTIAL OBJECTION: No known objections. INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The annexation plat has been reviewed and approved by Municipal Services, Engineering, Fire, Legal, Finance, Water and the County Health Department. BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Additional total annual revenue of approximately $581.41 would become available through annexation. The total is derived from real estate tax ($229.43) motor fuel tax($162.91) and state income tax($189.07).
