ORDINANCE NO. 2010-78 <br /> ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE <br /> - CHAPTER 34— <br /> TRAFFIC <br /> BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, <br /> ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That Chapter 34 of the City Code of the City of Decatur, Illinois, be, and the <br /> same is hereby, amended and modified at Section 54 and Section 72, so that said Section 54 and <br /> Section 72 thereof, as amended, shall provide as follows: <br /> 54. HOLIDAYS. Those days designated holidays upon which <br /> parking meter regulations shall not be enforced and the operation of the Motor <br /> Vehicle Parking System Garages shall be suspended, and for said purposes only, <br /> are hereby defined and designated as New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. <br /> Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, <br /> Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day; provided that, if any such holiday shall <br /> occur on a Saturday such regulations shall not be enforced on the immediately <br /> preceding Friday, and if any such holiday shall occur on a Sunday such <br /> regulations shall not be enforced on the immediately succeeding Monday. <br /> 72. CHRISTMAS PARKING. No charge shall be for <br /> hourly parking in City Garages B and C, or in any metered parking, for the period <br /> commencing Thanksgiving Day through and including New Year's Day. Posted <br /> time limits shall be enforced. <br />
