ORDINANCE NO. 2010-26 ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR ON PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE 501 CLUB/ROBBIE'S WHEREAS, the Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce's young professional committee, the 501 Club, and Robbie's has planned a social event for Saturday, May 22, 2010; and, WHEREAS it is the intention o of the Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce 501 Club and Robbie's to offer alcoholic liquor for sale to its patrons for consumption at this event; and, WHEREAS, such consumption of alcoholic liquor on Merchant Street requires the express approval of the City Council; and, WHEREAS, the Council finds that it would be in the best interest of the Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce 501 Club, Robbie's, and of the City of Decatur that such consumption of alcoholic liquor as described be permitted for said limited time period. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That on Saturday, May 22, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., alcoholic beverages may be consumed on Merchant Street between East Prairie and East Main Streets in downtown Decatur.
