6. EXAMINATION. Once approval is granted by the Electrical Commission the applicant shall <br /> make arrangements on his own to take the "Standard Master Electrician" exam as prepared and <br /> administered by the International Code council National Contractor Trades Examination <br /> Program. Proof of a passing score will then be submitted to the Genst,-uetie Building <br /> Inspections Division in order to obtain a license <br /> 10. RULES AND REGULATIONS. The Commission shall meet and elect officers for each <br /> calendar year. A Chairperson, Vice Chairperson and a Secretary shall be elected for a term of <br /> one (1) year. The Commission shall meet on a regular basis as necessary to perform its duties, <br /> with the Chairperson reporting to the Mayor for consultation and guidance. The Commission <br /> shall review all applicants for testing, write or approve examinations for licensing, review all <br /> new Code changes, jointly with the Building Inspections Super-viser Manager , prepare <br /> revisions to Chapter 69 (City Electrical Code) (excluding permit fees) and consult with the <br /> Building inspections Super-vise,. Building Inspections Manager and Electrical Inspectors. The <br /> Commission shall promulgate and adopt such necessary reasonable rules and regulations not <br /> inconsistent with statute, code or ordinance as may be required to carry out the purposes and <br /> intent of this Chapter and its duties and responsibilities under the provisions hereof and shall <br /> keep a record of such rules and regulations along with the minutes of all its acts and doings. <br /> CHAPTER 26: Section 1. BUILDING OFFICIAL AND INSPECTION DIVISION. Whenever <br /> the words "Inspection Division" are used in this chapter, it shall refer to the Inspection Division <br /> of the Eeonomi^ and ifban Development Pepa-*ment Planning and Building Services <br /> Department of the City of Decatur, Illinois and whenever the words "building official" are used <br /> herein the same refers to the Manager of Genstr-uetion Building Inspections in said department. <br /> 4. APPLICATION FEE. Any partnership, corporation or individual desiring a license <br /> as a Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Contractor in the City of Decatur shall make <br /> application for the same on an application prescribed and provided by the Eceflefnie-and Urban <br /> Development Depai4m Planning and Building Services Department Inspections Division. <br /> All licenses shall expire on October 1 following the issuance thereof. Applicants shall provide to <br /> the City of Decatur evidence of liability insurance in the amount of Five Hundred Thousand <br /> Dollars ($500,000.00) general aggregate. <br /> CHAPTER 27: SECTION 3. TIME AND MANNER OF APPEAL. An appeal may be <br /> taken within ten days from the date of the decision appealed from by filing with the City Clerk a <br /> notice in writing specifying the decision appealed from and the grounds therefor together with a <br /> filing fee of $10.00. Upon receipt of such notice filed as required herein, the City Clerk shall <br /> transmit the same to said Board and to the Direeter of the Heen,,mie and Urban Development <br /> Depaent Assistant City Manager for Development Services and said Direetor Assistant City <br /> Manager shall transmit to the Board all papers, documents or other instruments upon which the <br /> action appealed from was taken. <br /> SECTION 4. HEARINGS. The Board of Appeals shall, in every case, hold a hearing <br /> and reach a decision without unreasonable or unnecessary delay. Every decision of the Board <br /> shall be in writing and shall be promptly filed in the office of the Direetsr-of the-Eeenefnie and <br /> Urban,rVGlll DVYe10 r'er epai4. ent Assistant City Manager for Development Services. Four (4) <br /> � <br /> members of the Board shall constitute a quorum, and all decisions shall require a majority vote <br /> of those present and voting. A decision of the Board decided by a majority of four (4) members, <br /> or fewer, may be appealed to the Council. <br />
