The petitioner proposes the issuance of a conditional use permit and to erect a six (6) foot high
privacy fence along the north property line (McBride Avenue). The petitioner is not required to
fence in the back of the property or along the east and west property lines.
All of the properties surrounding the site are zoned M-2 Heavy Industrial District and developed
as such.
Upon review of land use and zoning patterns of the area, staff is of the opinion that the
processing of scrap metal is consistent with the other uses and supports a new CUP.
POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There were no known objectors at the Plan Commission
Meeting.
INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The Conditional Use Permit has been reviewed by the
City's Technical Review Committee; Planning, Engineering and Fire have approved the
proposed plan.
STAFF REFERENCE: Any additional questions may be forwarded to Joselyn A. Stewart at
424-2782 or at i tewart2decaturil.gov.
BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: None.
