� III ORDINANCE NO. 2009-61 ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR 300 BLOCK NORTH STATE STREET FROM EAST WILLIAM STREET TO REGIONS BANK ENTRANCE - DOHERTY'S PUB AND PINS - WHEREAS, Doherty's Pub and Pins has planned a Bike Night for Thursday, August 20, 2009; and, WHEREAS, it is the intention of Doherty's Pub and Pins to offer alcoholic beverages for sale to its patrons for consumption at this event; and, WHEREAS, such consumption of alcoholic liquor in the 300 Block North State Street between East William Street and the east entrance to Regions Bank requires the express approval of the City Council; and, WHEREAS, the Council finds that it would be in the best interest of Doherty's Pub and Pins and of the City of Decatur that such consumption of alcoholic liquor as described be permitted for said limited time period. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That on Thursday, August 20, 2009, from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., alcoholic beverages may be consumed in the 300 Block North State Street, between East William Street and the east entrance to Regions Bank, located in downtown Decatur. Section 2. That no alcoholic beverage may be consumed as provided herein unless such alcoholic beverage is in a plastic or paper cup.
