Chapter 28 <br /> SECTION 2-5. For the purposes of this Chapter,the following definitions shall apply unless the <br /> context indicates or requires a different meaning: <br /> (A) "Age"means the chronological age of a person who is at least 40 years old,except with re- <br /> gard to any practice described in Article 7,insofar as that practice concerns training or apprenticeship <br /> programs. In the case of training or apprenticeship programs, for the purposes of Article 7, "age"means <br /> the chronological age of a person who is 18 but not yet 40 years old. <br /> (B) "Charge"means an allegation filed with the Human Rights Officer by an aggrieved party, <br /> pursuant to Article 5. <br /> (C) "Commission"means the Human Relations Commission created by this Chapter. <br /> (D) "Complainant"means a person who makes a complaint or files a charge. <br /> (E) "Complaint" means the formal pleading filed by the Human Rights Officer with the Com- <br /> mission, following an investigation and finding of substantial evidence of a human rights violation, <br /> or the formal pleading filed with the Commission by an aggrieved party pursuant to Article 5. <br /> (F) "Disabili "means a determinable physical or mental characteristic of a person,including, <br /> but not limited to,a determinable physical characteristic which necessitates the person's use of a guide, <br /> hearing or support dog,the history of such characteristic, or the perception of such characteristic by the <br /> person complained against,which may result from disease,injury,congenital condition of birth or func- <br /> tional disorder and which characteristic: <br /> (1)For purposes of Article 7 is unrelated to the person's ability to perform the duties of a <br /> particular job or position; <br /> (2)For purposes of Article 9,is unrelated to the person's ability to acquire,rent or main- <br /> tain a housing accommodation; <br /> (3)For purposes of Article 10, is unrelated to a person's ability to utilize and benefit from <br /> a place of public accommodation. <br /> (G) "Human Rights Officer"means the duly appointed occupant of the office created by Article <br /> 4 of this Chapter. <br /> 1 <br />
