Perry, Purchasing Supervisoni <br /> SUBJECT: Bids for mowing tractors and double gang mowers <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding contract to Hogan Grain <br /> and Equipment to furnish two (2) 2011 M9540FC-1 Kubota mowing tractors. Staff also <br /> recommends awarding contract to Woody's Municipal Supply to furnish two (2) 2012 Diamond <br /> DRF IO2COF double gang mowers. <br /> BACKGROUND: The mowing tractors and double gang mowers will be used by the Forestry <br /> Section. The double gang mowers are attachments for the new mowing tractors. The mowers <br /> will replace 2000 Ford New Holland mowing tractors & double gang mowers with 2286 and <br /> 2431 hours that are currently in service. The old tractors and mowing attachments will be traded <br /> in to Hogan Grain and Equipment on the new mowing tractors. <br /> This equipment will be used to mow City property, drainage areas, and vacant lots that are weed <br /> violation properties. They will also be used to mow City right of ways, and areas such as east <br /> and west Route 36, in addition to the broad medians on those routes. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Forestry Section requested the replacement and wrote <br /> the specifications along with Fleet Maintenance. Both recommend approval of these purchases. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marley, Director of Public Works, 424-2747. Randy Callison, <br /> City Forester, 875-4820. Richard will be at the meeting to answer questions the council may <br /> have about this purchase. <br /> BUDGET: $34,000—Equipment Replacement Fund (Hogan Grain and Equipment—mowing <br /> tractors). <br /> $56,588 —Equipment Replacement Fund (Woody's Municipal Supply—double <br /> gang mowers). <br />
