The equipment also does not continuously dewater the
material being vacuumed out.
If Council approves this Change Order, this extra work will begin on Wednesday, November 9, 2011.
The underpass will be completely closed from Wednesday, November 9 through Friday, November
11. Staff will coordinate the underpass closure with all major employers along Brush College,
Richland Community College and will notify the public.
City Staff will continually evaluate the amount of material removed and the speed at which it is
removed. If Walden's efforts are found to be inefficient, the City will suspend the work and select
another method of cleaning the sewer.
POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None
INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: ADM, Richland Community College, Canadian National
Railroad
STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marley, Public Works Director and Matt Newell, City Engineer.
Richard Marley will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to answer any questions of the
Council on this item.
BUDGEU/TIME IMPLICATIONS:
Budget Impact: Funding for this work is included in the Capital Improvement Fund.
Staffmg Impact: Staff time has been allocated for managing the Annual Sanitary Sewer Cleaning
project.
This Memorandum was prepared by Mary E.
