Smith, Senior Planner <br /> SUBJECT: Reauthorization of the Decatur Urbanized Area Transportation Study(DUATS) <br /> BACKGROUND: On November 15, 2010, the Council passed Resolution No. R2010-215, which <br /> reauthorized DUATS through an updated and mutually agreed upon Intergovernmental Agreement <br /> (IGA) as required by the Federal Highway Administration. Upon approval of the IGA by all member <br /> entities of DUATS it was submitted to the Illinois Department of Transportation for their signature. <br /> IDOT approved the IGA on June 13, 2011, with only a few minor modifications. The changes added <br /> Harristown and Oreana to the Technical Committee and made changes to sentence structure and <br /> formatting. Although there are no substantive differences between the IGA approved in 2010, and the <br /> current version, they are not identical. As such, it was deemed appropriate and in the best interests of <br /> all parties involved to approve the current version of the IGA. <br /> The DUATS Policy Committee unanimously approved the IGA on August 9, 2011, and instructed <br /> staff to transmit it to the member entities for their respective approvals. <br /> STAFF RECOMMENDATION.
