Perry, Purchasing Supervisor <br /> SUBJECT: Bids for utility vehicle <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding contract to Miles <br /> Chevrolet to furnish one (1) 2012 Chevrolet Suburban full size utility vehicle. <br /> BACKGROUND: This vehicle will be used by the Fire Department and will replace a 1999 <br /> GMC Suburban currently in service with 4163 hours. The utility vehicle is used by the Battalion <br /> Chief on duty to run shifts, respond to accident scenes and gas leaks, transport oxygen bottles to <br /> the fire stations, etc. The vehicle is also used to carry equipment to fire scenes and turnout gear <br /> for the battalion chief. The vehicle also carries disaster plans and books needed for emergencies. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Fire requested the utility vehicle. Fleet Maintenance <br /> wrote the bid specifications. Both recommend approval of the bid. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marley, Public Works Director, 424-2747. Matt Sekosky, Fire <br /> Chief, 424-2811. Richard Marley and Matt Sekosky will be at the council meeting to answer any <br /> questions the council may have about this purchase. <br /> BUDGET: $39,562.34 from the Equipment Replacement Fund. <br />
