Perry, Purchasing Supervisor <br /> SUBJECT: Bids for Forcible Entry Tools <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding contract to Towers Fire <br /> Apparatus to furnish four (4) Fire Hooks Unlimited HR-1 forcible entry tools. <br /> BACKGROUND: The forcible entry tool is used by the Fire Department when they respond to <br /> fires and need immediate access to a building. This tool hydraulically forces the door open by <br /> separating the door from the doorjamb. <br /> The Fire Department currently has four (4) of these tools. This purchase will allow one forcible <br /> entry tool to be placed on four (4) additional fire apparatus. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The Fire Department requested the forcible entry tools <br /> and approve of the purchase. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Matt Sekosky, Fire Chief, 424-2811. Jeff Abbott, Deputy Fire Chief, <br /> 424-2811. Matt will be at the council meeting to answer any questions the council may have <br /> about this purchase. <br /> BUDGET: $5648.00 FEMA grant from the American Fire Fighters Grant Program. <br />
