Thomas, Lieutenant—Administrative Operations <br /> Subject:BARBECK Communications—Annual Service Agreement <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: The purpose of this memorandum is to request the <br /> expenditure of funds to BARBECK Communications for the annual service agreement. It <br /> would be the recommendation of staff that the Decatur Police Department pay BARBECK <br /> Communications for the annual service agreement at the cost of$26,376.00 to be paid out of <br /> the designated Communications line item(s) on a monthly basis. The monthly payments <br /> would be $2,198.00. <br /> BACKGROUND: The Decatur Police Department has signed agreements with BARBECK <br /> Communications who provides service and maintenance to the communications equipment <br /> housed at the MSC, the Macon County Courthouse, as well as within the Emergency <br /> Communications Center. This agreement covers various pieces of equipment, including the <br /> Central Electronics Banks (CEBs), repeaters, combiners, controllers, etc. as well as the on- <br /> site service agreement. <br /> The maintenance agreement with BARBECK Communications is a regularly budgeted item <br /> and paid on a monthly basis through the Communication Center budget line item. This <br /> contract covers May 1, 2011 through April 30, 2012.
