Perry, Purchasing Supervisor-1P <br /> SUBJECT: Purchase of Water Meters <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding contract to Badger Meter, <br /> Inc. to furnish (600) 5/8"Read-O-Matic water meters and (25) 1" Read-O-Matic water meters. <br /> BACKGROUND: The Read-O-Matic product line has reached the end of its life cycle and <br /> Badger Meter has discontinued manufacturing this product. Currently, Badger Meter has a <br /> limited inventory supply and is available while supply lasts. <br /> The City currently employs the Badger Meter Read-O-Matic technology and has done so for <br /> approximately the last 30 years. The purchase of the meters will allow Water Services to <br /> provide service to our water customers until alternative meter reading technology is selected for <br /> the future. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Water Services requested the water meters and approves <br /> of the purchase. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Keith Alexander, Water Management Director, 424-2863. Randy <br /> Miller, Water Services Manager, 875-5705. Keith will be at the meeting to answer any questions <br /> the council may have about this purchase. <br /> BUDGET: $38,978.50 from the Water Operating Fund. <br />
