Alexander, Director of Water Management V( <br /> SUBJECT: Macon County Highway Department Request for <br /> Temporary Construction Easement and <br /> Dedication of Right of Way for Public Road Purposes <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Council adopt the attached Resolution authorizing a Temporary Construction Easement and <br /> Dedication of Right of Way for Public Road Purposes to the Macon County Highway <br /> Department for improvements to County Highway 7 (Baltimore Road). <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Macon County Highway Department (MCHD) is planning to improve County Highway 7 <br /> (Baltimore Road) just south of the intersection with County Highway 50 (Lost Bridge Road). <br /> The improvements include a bridge replacement and pavement replacement with a tentative <br /> construction schedule from fall of 2011 to spring of 2012. <br /> The land adjacent to this site is Lake Decatur property owned by the City of Decatur. The <br /> MCHD already has a 1.943 acre right of way from the City for this section of Baltimore Road. <br /> A 0.048 acre temporary construction easement and a 0.452 acre right of way are being requested <br /> by the MCHD. See the attached Right of Way Plat for details. <br /> The City is interested in having this project proceed in a timely manner so that after completion <br /> the City can begin work on the South Shores Drive bridge over Sand Creek. This sequencing <br /> will result in reduced vehicular inconveniences in south Decatur while the projects are being <br /> constructed. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: <br /> None foreseen. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: <br /> Bruce Bird, Macon County Highway Department Engineer <br /> Richard Marley, Director of Public Works <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: <br /> Keith D.
