BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> With 30 days of the acceptance of these ordinances, the City of Decatur will begin paying <br /> 100% of the cost of street lights will no longer be receiving donated therms for natural <br /> gas usage. The City budget will see a significant increase on the expenditure side of the <br /> budget, all though it will not be as great as it would have been had we not gone out for <br /> bid on electricity and natural gas. To offset some if not all of the increase, Ameren <br /> Illinois will begin paying us compensation each month for the rights, privileges and <br /> authorities granted by these agreements. <br /> On the electric side we will receive $955,590 per year (payable in 12 equal monthly <br /> payments) during the first year of the agreement, $891,730 per year during the second <br /> year, $827,870 per year during the third year, $764,010 per year during the fourth year <br /> and $700,150 per year for the fifth year and all remaining years of the agreement. <br /> On the natural gas side we will receive $220,960 per year (payable in 12 equal monthly <br /> payments) for the first five years of the agreement. That amount would remain the same <br /> for the remaining fifteen years, unless the City would request a revision to the <br /> compensation amount after five years, as defined in the agreement. <br />
