W. Main St. in the City of Decatur, Illinois, is legally described as follows: � o m m�� � �n The South 190 feet of Lot Nine (9) of"A" Lots of Assessor's Subdivision �i a �m of the South Part of the S W '/4 of NE '/4 in Section 16 Township 16 North, i °°= a Range 2E of the Third Principal Meridian as per Plat recorded in Book 33 N � Page 26 of the records in the Recorder's Office of Macon County, Illinois, 3 �� also identified as a portion of PIN 04-12-16-255-008; and ��'m � � WHEREAS, the Monarch ButterFly Monument at Dennis School is historically g significant in that it meets the following criteria set forth in Chapter 31, Section 4, of the Decatur Municipal Code: (a) It has character, interest or value as part of the development, heritage or cultural characteristics of the City of Decatur, County of Macon, State of Illinois, or United States of America; (b) It was the location of a significant local, county, state or national event; (c) It is identified with a person or persons who significantly contributed to the development of the City, County, State or Nation; (i) It has a unique location or singular physical characteristics that make it an established or familiar visual feature; and WHEREAS, on August 19, 2015, the Historical and Architectural Sites Commission held a Public Hearing pursuant to Decatur City Code Chapter 31, Section 7, on the proposed designation as a Landmark and voted unanimously, by a vote of six to zero (6-0), to recommend that the City Council designate the Monarch Butterfly Monument at Dennis School as a Landmark. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOISI as follows: Section 1. That the foregoing recitals shall be and are hereby incorporated in this Section 1 as if said recitals were fully set forth. Section 2. That the recommendation of the Decatur Historical and Architectural Sites Commission be, and the same is hereby, received, placed on file, and approved. Section 3. That the Monarch Butterfly Monument at Dennis School is hereby designated as a Landmark pursuant to Decatur City Code Chapter 31.
