� ' � <br /> AGREEMENT <br /> WHEREAS,the Village of Harristown, Illinois ("Village") owns and operates a water supply, <br /> storage and distribution system; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Decatur, Illinois, ("City") owns and operates a water warks system; <br /> and, <br /> WHEREAS, both parties desire to enter into an agreement to secure a supply of treated water <br /> from the system of the City for the system of the Village during episodes occasioned by a temporary <br /> failure of the second water works system or some part thereof. <br /> For and in consideration of the promises and covenants respectively to be performed by the <br /> parties hereto, it is agreed by and between the Village of Harristown, Illinois, and the City of Decatur, <br /> Illinois as follows: <br /> , <br /> l. That the term of this agreement will be for a period of five (5) years commencing <br /> December 1, 2010. <br /> 2. That during the term of this Agreement, the Village may offer and maintain water service <br /> only within the corporate limits of the Village. The Village may furnish water to users outside the <br /> corporate limits of the Village only upon consent of the City Council expressed by ordinance or <br /> resolution. <br /> 3. That any extension or modification of the Village water system shall be constructed in <br /> compliance with the established standards used by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. <br />
