Mass Transit Memorandum page 2
The Mass Transit Administrator reviewed the bids and determined that
two firms failed to submit all of the required information: IVS, Inc.
and Radio Engineering Industries, Inc. did not submit any pricing
information for the optional equipment. Also, the specifications for
both camera systems proposed by IVS, Inc. failed to satisfy a key
requirement in the IFB that"tagged" information/events stored on the
hard disc units be protected from automatic overwriting. Because of
this, staff recommends that these bids be removed from consideration.
Staff determined that the two remaining bids meet all of the published
specifications, with no variances, and that these bids complied with all
other requirements of the bidding process. As shown on the attached
tabulation of bids the lowest, qualified bidder was Seon Design, Inc.
with a bid of$ 12,146.00.
POTENTIAL No objections are expected.
OBJECTION:
INPUT FROM Richard Foiles, General Manager
OTHER SOURCES: Decatur Public Transit System
STAFF REFERENCE: Paul McChancy, Mass Transit Administrator
BUDGET/TIME Staff has already obtained a federal grant for 80% of this purchase.
IMPLICATIONS: City funds will be used to fund the remaining 20°l0 ($2,430).
