Marley, P.E., Director of Public Works <br /> SUBJECT: Agreement with URS for Brush College Road/Norfolk Southern <br /> Railroad Crossing Study <br /> CITY OF DECATUR GOALS. PRIORITIES AND ACTIONS: <br /> The presentation of this engineering agreement for the Brush College Road/Norfolk <br /> Southern Railroad Crossing Study for Council consideration is consistent with the guidance <br /> provided by the City Council goal,priorities and actions as follows: <br /> Goal: Provide an Accessible and Connected City. <br /> Priority: Transportation investments result in a safe, secure and efficient <br /> movement of people and goods to,from, within and through the Ciry. <br /> Actionl. Improve the Brush College Road corridor and <br /> underpass from William Street through Faries <br /> Parkway. <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached Resolutions <br /> authorizing the Mayor to sign and the City Clerk to attest to the following items related to <br /> improving the Brush College Subway on Brush College Road south of Faries Parkway: <br /> 1. Resolution authorizing an agreement with URS Corporation to perform a preliminary <br /> engineering review of the subway for an amount not to exceed $811,000. <br /> 2. Resolution authorizing a Local Agency/ State Agreement with the Illinois <br /> Department of Transportation(IDOT)to fund the preliminary engineering work for <br /> the Brush College Subway Improvement at a cost not to exceed $811,000.. The <br /> Agreement provides for 100%payment for the engineering costs up to $811,000. <br /> Ninety percent will be paid to the City upon approval of the Agreement and the <br /> balance upon receiving the final invoice from URS. <br /> Page � 1 <br />
