The Crisis Worker a rees to I
period), and actrvrty charts ananged at th uut g g
work with the family a minimum of 30 days, developing a plan which would include
remedies for the occurrences that resulted in the crisis. The Crisis Worker will broker
needed services, arrange family/community meetings when required and provide direct
services (counseling, transportation, and advocacy) where the circumstances warrant such
activity. The case can be ertended, due to circumstances, to ninety days of service.
Usua.11y, cases are tra.nsferred into the Comprehensive Community Based Services
Program at YAP once the situation has passed the "crisis/runaway stage" into
"engagement stage". These Crisis services are necessary to preserve the family and
reduce the likelihood of future family problems; if these services are eliminated or
reduced it could have a lasting negative effect on community.
I would also like to take this opportunity to share with you that The Youth Advocate
Program recently had an on-site compliance review conducted by Department of Human
Services. During this review they indicated no recommendations for improvement,
stating that the Crisis Intervention Program was in full compliance! We are very pleased
with this achievement, and we believe that this speaks to the strong collaboration that we
have enjoyed for more than 20 years!
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
Respectfully,
. ,, /
v-
Michael Warner, MS.Ed, LCPC, CADC
CEO/Executive Director
Youth Advocate Program
