McCrady, City Manager
Keith D. Alexander, Director of Water Management
SUBJECT: Agricultural Watershed Institute Research and Education Agreement
SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION:
Council adopt the attached Resolution authorizing an Agreement with the Agricultural
Watershed Institute (AWI) for Research and Education in the amount of $20,000. Work in these areas directly support Lake Decatur watershed protection and management
of the Lake. Major work categories are:
• Nutrient management
• Beneficial use of dredged sediment
• Biomass energy to generate electricity and heat
• Water resources planning and management
• Shared learning progam
If approved, this will be the fifth consecutive year of similar agreements with AWI.
POTENTIAL OBJECTION:
None foreseen.
INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES:
None.
STAFF REFERENCE:
Keith D. Alexander, Director of Water Management, 424-2863, kalexander@decaturil.gov
BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS:
This expenditure is included annually in the Lake Services operating budget.
cc: Stephen John, AWI
Randy Kampfe, ADM
Randy Miller, Water Services Manager
